Oregon Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Operations and Policy Analyst 3 to join our Market Access and Certification Program Area.

This is a full-time, limited duration, classified position located in Portland, Oregon.  The duration of the position is now through July 31, 2018.  This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

This position exists to support the agency's interrelated threefold mission: to provide agricultural market development, to protect agricultural natural resources, and to provide consumer protection and food safety.The position is located within the Market Access & Certification program area with the Agricultural Marketing and Development program area. The Marketing & Development Program works to develop and expand global markets (local, national and international) for Oregon agricultural products as well as promote them. Its objective is to assist Oregon agribusiness complete sales for Oregon agricultural and food products by providing expertise in the areas of market access, technical trade requirements, transportation logistics, certification, and bringing buyer and seller together through trade and promotional events. The program also creates market access by identifying and working to resolve international trade barriers by product and by country which have a direct adverse affect on the trade or potential for trade of Oregon agricultural products; works to retain and expand existing agricultural businesses as well as recruit new business to the state; and acts as a liaison with the state's 23 commodity commissions who are charged with research, promotion, and education for their specific commodity.
